oh, and nadine and i got this car whose alarm kept going off because of the el ticketed twice. when the people got back to their car, they were not happy. woo hoo! i can't wait to move...

i watched waiting for guffman last night. it isn't anywhere near as good as best in show.

i'm completely exhausted today. maybe the barenaked ladies can help wake me up...

i had a dream last night...

it was weird. i was meeting someone who was going to give me a ride home at this place where i used to take dance lessons, and i ended up running into a bunch of people that i went to grammar school with. this girl, jenny, noticed me and then i realized that i was sitting next to this guy, patrick. after...well, after something. i'm not sure what they were sitting around waiting for...i talked to jenny and patrick, and jenny said that she had gotten her bs in psychology, and was in grad school.

then i woke up...

i usually hate working on the slow computer, but right now my brain is working just about as fast as the computer is, so it's ok.

i feel tired...

i'm done searching for a new computer. i just need to call the rep for depaul, but...i'm stalling. why? i'm not really in the mood to talk to anyone right now. maybe i'll take care of everything tomorrow morning...or maybe i'll do it a little later. whatever...

i need music...ok, now puddle dive is in...

i know so many white people. i mean, where do i start. you know, the trouble with white people is you just can't tell them apart...

maybe this'll wake me up...

my mom sent me a forward with "the 12 rules of life." here are the good ones:

2. you need only two tools: wd-40 and duct tape. if it doesn't move and it should, use wd-40. if it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

7. learn to pick your battles; ask yourself, "will this matter one year from now? how about one month? one week? one day?"

i just finished my dad's father's day present.

i just noticed the most of the entries i've made lately have been very, very short. funny.

well, i'm at work, just waiting for some music to download. i'm really not very busy so far today, so i hope i get something to do soon.

i never ended up finishing my gradebook homework. i altered the files, but none of the changes showed when i brought up the file. hmmm...i guess that'll be something for me to work on this weekend.

i'm on hold with tcf again. why do i have to deal with the same person every time? wouldn't you think that since they all work together, i would be able to talk to anyone? i mean, it's not an actual branch or anything; it's just a little one in jewel. ugh. ok, it's there...finally...

and my day just started...

i can't believe i slept until 11:30; it must be the dreary weather outside...

or maybe it's because nadine and i were up for over an hour around 1:30 last night calling the cops on some psychos near us. i mean, screaming and pounding on drums in the middle of the night? i know i've said it before, and i'm sure i'll say it again, but...i can't wait to move!

oh, and right now, i'm reading the red tent by anita diamant. i just started about a week ago, and i'm about half-way through. it's really good. wanna know what it's about? go here.

now that the (few) shows i used to watch regularly are either gone (farewell, x-files. and, no, i didn't get to see the last episode. ugh!) or in reruns, i can catch up on my public television viewing. for example: tonight at 8, scientific american frontiers is on, and it'll be about learning from the dead, i.e., bones and such. woo hoo! i'm such a nerd. this interactive skeleton is pretty interesting.

however, we're probably going to get cable at the new place, so i won't be devoting as much time to public television as i would otherwise. besides, i start my new job soon, so i won't have tons of days to relax and watch random documentaries. i can't wait to have the history channel, tlc (for trading spaces, not all of its lame/sexist/patronizing "a [whatever] story" shows), animal planet (how can you not love animal precinct?), and hgtv (martha, martha, martha!).

sigh...

the meeting was pretty interesting.

right now, i'm looking for a computer for my new office. i've found a pretty nice one, but i have to check out how to order it and deal with the invoice and everything...

just in case anyone is going to be looking for me: i have a meeting at 12:30, which should go until about 2:00.

i had a good-ish weekend. i got some cleaning and laundry done. now, i just have to really start packing this week. oh, and my homework assignments still aren't done yet. i'm hoping to finish one during work today if i'm not busy, and (start and) finish the other one tomorrow at home. i start my "new job" next monday, so this will be my last non-five-day working week for a while. oh, except for when i take the 21st off to move...
